Two Reasons Why Quality Content Is Much More Important Than Search Engine Optimization

I’ve noticed that many people tend to believe that if they search engine optimize their websites to the maximum, traffic will come in. You can even see some scams claiming to offer you great search engine placement. DO NOT trust these sources. Understand that it all comes down to the content you provide.
Of course, optimizing for the search engines is important, but it’s not the key. You should learn how to do it once and for all and then mostly take some time to create quality content. You may now be thinking that you have learned otherwise, but let us see why SEO is simply NOT the fundamental way to create traffic.
1) Search Engines WILL Find You
Nowadays, search engines and especially google, is very competent in discovering new websites. In fact, even if you do not make a single search engine submission, the engines WILL find you(unless you tell them otherwise with robots.txt for instance). What changes is the time period in which they locate you. This is where search engine optimization techniques come to the game. Submitting to search engines yourself and submitting an xml sitemap makes the procedure much faster most times.
2) You Have to Have QUALITY CONTENT
Even if you have the best SEO around, you won’t go far if you do not have much content in your site. Not just any content in fact, but content that your readers want to read about, original posts containing new ideas and arguments. Search Engines want to find content and even if your page ranks were great, no content means they will shortly fall.
It’s very important for every webmaster to quickly understand that. Do not overestimate SEO. If you need to do that, do it with the content which really deserves it. However, do take some time to fix your website so that it’s optimized for the engines but do not get obsessed by it. The basic things to do are more than enough to guarantee that you’re not search engine handicapped.
